Numbers 29: More Offerings are commanded

Synopsis:

God’s list of offerings he demands is continued:

• First day of 7th month: no servile work – blow trumpets – 1 young bull, 1 ram, 7 lambs with oil, and one kid goat for a sin offering.
• 10th day of the 7th month: Holy convocation – afflict your souls – do no work – 1 young bull, 1 ram, 7 lambs along with flour and oil and a kid goat for a sin offering.
• 15th day of the 7th month:  Holy convocation (day 1) – no servile work – 13 young bulls, 2 rams, 14 lambs along with flour and oil and one kid goat for a sin offering.
• 16th day of the 7th month: (day 2) 12 young bulls, 2 rams, 14 lambs and a kid goat for a sin offering.
• 17th day of the 7th month: (day 3) 11 young bulls, 2 rams, 14 lambs and a goat.
• 18th day of the 7th month: (day 4) 10 young bulls, 2 rams 14 lambs and a goat
• 19th day of the 7th month (day 5) 9 young bulls, 2 rams, 14 lambs and a goat
• 20th day of the 7th month (day 6): 8 young bulls, 2 rams, 14 lambs and a goat
• 21st day of the 7th month  (day 7): 7 young bulls, 2 rams, 14 lambs and a goat
• 22nd day of the 7th month (day 8): No servile work – 1 bull, 1 ram, 7 lambs and a goat.

In other words;

In the 7th month of the year a whole week of sacrifices is required.73 bulls, 17 rams, 119 lambs, and 10 goats.

Favorite bit:

The countdown starting on day 1 of the Holy Convocation – not sure why the bulls are counted down and none of the other animals are.
